On arrival at the airport, meet your expert guide and transfer via the bustling town of Arusha for overnight.
Mount Meru HotelMeet your safari guide for a briefing on the wonderful events ahead. Drive to Tarangire — Tanzania's best-kept secret on the northern circuit, famous for its enormous elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Afternoon game drive on arrival, then full day morning and afternoon game drives.
Tarangire Osupuko LodgeDepart for beautiful Lake Manyara — a shallow alkaline lake shimmering in the Great Rift Valley, famous for tree-climbing lions and vast elephant herds. Over 400 bird species including flamingo. Late lunch at Lake Manyara Serena before continuing to the Ngorongoro Highlands. Day 5: descend into the crater for an enchanting game drive. Known as the eighth wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site — some 25,000 large mammals including enormous bull elephants, rhinos and lions roam the plains, lakes and forests of this extraordinary caldera.
Plantation Lodge, NgorongoroDepart Ngorongoro and cross into the neighbouring Serengeti, stopping en route at Olduvai Gorge — the Cradle of Mankind and one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world. Arrive in the Serengeti late afternoon with a game drive transfer to your tented camp. Two full days of morning and afternoon game drives. Optional: Masai village visit and hot air balloon safari launching at dawn over the plains.
Serengeti Osupuko Tented CampGame drive transfer to the airstrip for the 10:50 Coastal flight to Zanzibar, arriving 14:00. Transfer to Bluebay Beach Resort — situated on the finest wide white sandy beach on the island, a 30-acre site with over 1,000 palm trees, sparkling pools and azure seas. Three full days at leisure with optional water sports, spice tours, Stone Town excursion and snorkelling.
